Holiday logic & data privacy

The fixed Iranian solar holidays (Nowruz, 22 Bahman, 29 Esfand, …) ship as a local dataset inside this app, and Thursday plus Friday are removed from working days as the Iranian weekend.

  • Shifting lunar holidaysReligious holidays move every year and are announced by the official calendar authority, so they are never guessed. Add them from the “Day events” card on the timestamp tool to make business-day math exact.
  • Browser-only storageYour custom holidays live in this browser's localStorage. Nothing is uploaded, tracked or analysed.
  • No network dependencyEvery calculation keeps working with the network disconnected, because the page never talks to a server.

How are Iranian working days counted?

Any day in the range that is neither a Thursday nor a Friday and is not on the official holiday list counts as a working day. Add your own holidays and they join that list too.

3

How is the year/month difference derived?

With calendar borrowing: years and months follow the real calendar lengths, and the remaining hours, minutes and seconds come from a clock subtraction.

4

How do you know a Jalali year is a leap year?

The Khayyam algorithm evaluates the vernal equinox; a year is leap when Esfand has 30 days. Gregorian leap years follow the 4/100/400 rule.

5

Why can the distance differ slightly from manual counting?

Ranges with different clock times (say 14:00 → 09:00) split a day. The metric cards therefore show both the raw distance (total seconds) and the whole calendar days.
